
Investment Team
Michael E. Healy (Principal) — Mr. Healy is involved in all aspects of the firm’s investment activities. Before joining Gardner Standard, Mr. Healy served as a Vice President at Goldner Hawn Johnson & Morrison Incorporated, a Minneapolis-based private equity firm. In this role, Mr. Healy played an active role in a wide variety of transactions and served as a director of Remmele Engineering, Inc. and the holding company of Mid Valley Industries, LLC. Prior to working as an investment professional, Mr. Healy worked as a corporate lawyer at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP, a New York law firm, where he represented a number of financial institutions on bank and mezzanine financings in conjunction with leveraged acquisitions. He also represented several Fortune 100 companies on a wide variety of merger, acquisition, divestiture and joint venture transactions. In addition to his professional activities, Mr. Healy currently serves on the board of Family & Children’s Service, a Minneapolis-based non-profit organization.
Mr. Healy is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and received his law degree from Harvard Law School.
Christopher E. Millikin (Principal) — Mr. Millikin is involved in all aspects of the firm’s investment activities. Prior to joining Gardner Standard, Mr. Millikin worked at Intellectual Ventures, where he developed a new patent licensing program. Previously, Mr. Millikin served as an independent consultant to investment funds focused on investing in intellectual property rights. Before entering the investment industry, Mr. Millikin worked as an intellectual property lawyer at Goodwin Proctor LLP and Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C. In these roles, he acted as litigation counsel to clients such as Teva Pharmaceuticals, Pfizer, Nortel, ATI, StemCells, AlphaTec Spine and a variety of other corporate clients. Trained as a scientist, Mr. Millikin worked for several years before law school investigating the three-dimensional structure of the first catalytic RNA ever discovered. His publications in this area include an article in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science.
Mr. Millikin is a graduate of the University of Michigan and received his law degree from Harvard Law School.
Tozar S. Gandhi (Associate) — Mr. Gandhi is responsible for sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities, assessing operational capabilities and assisting in the arrangement of bank and mezzanine financings. From 2005 to 2008, Mr. Gandhi worked as a chartered accountant at S.R. Batliboi & Co., a member firm of Ernst & Young Global based in Mumbai, India, where he conducted statutory audits under Indian and U.S. GAAP, performed internal controls testing pursuant to the requirements of SAS 70, and performed a variety of other internal and external projects. Before joining S.R. Batliboi & Co., Mr. Gandhi interned and later worked for Sorab S. Engineer & Co., an accounting firm also based in Mumbai, where he performed statutory audits for companies operating in the manufacturing, shipping, insurance and other financial service industries.
Mr. Gandhi graduated from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and received his Masters of Commerce from the University of Mumbai.
Joseph A. Rotondi (Associate) — Mr. Rotondi is responsible for sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities, assessing operational capabilities and assisting in the arrangement of bank and mezzanine financings. Since graduating from law school in 2004, Mr. Rotondi worked for a variety of organizations in and around Washington, D.C., including the Cato Institute, the Institute for Justice and the Mercatus Center. More recently, Mr. Rotondi held summer positions at Assurant, Inc., a provider of specialized insurance products based in New York, and America’s Growth Capital, a boutique investment bank based in Boston.
Mr. Rotondi received his B.A. in Economics from Saint John’s University and received his J.D. from the University of Minnesota.
